Project Description

The Inquirer is a no nonsense IT news site. ‘News, Reviews, Facts and Friction’. It is a little more interesting than other sites of its kind in that they pull no punches in their style of reporting. There is the tongue in cheek coverage right through to much more serious journalistic viewpoints. With their finger on the pulse they will regularly expose large corporations around the world to their misdemeanours and often in a very amusing style.

Our Solution

Due to the large and varied array of content on their site Podcast Voices felt they should be providing a regular round up of the highlights in Podcast format. We approached them to record and produce a twice weekly 25-30 minute news  show. The combination of great content and the high production values we can offer meant that  before long the podcast had built a loyal and regular audience.

The format consisted of an  ‘anchor man’ presenter with three or four other male and female voices reporting the content. Each show was broken into several sections including ‘The Top Five Inquirer Stories’, and a ‘News In Brief’ section followed by a Feature articles or a Reviews.

The podcasts were  posted on a special page on The Inquirer’s site with accompanying ‘show-notes’ so the user could easily link back to online versions of the articles they had listened to.
After negotiations with several large corporations the podcast finally secured Sun Microsystems as the key sponsor for the twice weekly shows leading to a new revenue stream for the client.

Client Feedback

The Podcast luvvies approached me to create TheInquirer.net Podcast show. Immediately we agreed, our sales agency managed to sign up Sun Microsystems as the key sponsor for our first two episodes. They were obviously as impressed as we were with it and have signed up to 3 more months straight sponsorship! Good work guys, our readers are now becoming loyal “listeners” and it’s become a revenue generator without too much effort from me!
